Tesla Unveils 10,000 GPU Supercomputer to Train Self-Driving Cars (1)

Aug 30, 2023
Tesla is about to flex some serious computing muscle with the launch of its supercomputer this week. This isn't just any machine; it's packed with 10,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs, making it one of the world's most powerful supercomputers. The main goal? To train Tesla's full self-driving (FSD) tech at lightning speed. But with Nvidia struggling to keep up with the demand for these GPUs, Tesla's not putting all its chips in one basket.
They're investing a cool $1 billion in their own supercomputer, Dojo. And if you thought Elon Musk was slowing down, think again. He's planning to splash out $4 billion on AI training over the next two years. Talk about driving innovation!

Why not call it Mojo Dojo Computer House? This feeds directly into Teslas master plan of turning vehicles on the roads into 'robotaxis' once the software for driver-assistance is perfected. This would allow customers to pay either upfront or annual fees to access the technology (Annualize Recurring Revenue is a big driver of Enterprise Value) and also Tesla could operate its own fleet of robotaxis.
