Snapchat Jumps On the Selfie Train with the Launch of ‘Dreams’ (1)
Just a few weeks ago we covered how Snap’s AI Bot went rogue. Now they are teasing fate with AI image generation. It’s a bold strategy Cotton, let’s see if it pays off.
Snapchat is diving into the world of AI selfies with its new feature, "Dreams." Nestled in Snapchat's Memories section, Dreams offers users themed eight-photo packs, like doppelgangers or back-to-school, after they upload real-life selfies. While the first pack is on the house, every pack after that will set you back $1. Aussies and Kiwis are the first to test it out, with the global rollout happening in the next few weeks.
Jack Brody, Snap's VP of Product, described the feature as "a little bit silly and a little bit weird." While the results might be hit or miss, Snap's big plans include letting users add friends to their Dreams and introducing Sponsored Dreams. So, brace yourself for Disney-themed AI selfies! With Snapchat boasting 397 million daily users, Dreams might just be the AI introduction for many.
