Must Watch: ‘The Creator’ Movie Trailer (1)
Director Gareth Edwards, known for hits such as “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, is gearing up to drop his latest cinematic masterpiece, "The Creator," a gripping tale of the clash between humans and AI.
The film was set in 2070, as Edwards felt like this possibility was decades away. Now it’s feeling uncomfortably close to home. Given recent events, he now jokes “there’s a sweet spot window where it’s before the robot apocalypse and not after — which I think is in November or maybe December. The setup of our movie is pretty much the last few months”.
Starring big names like John David Washington, Gemma Chan, and Allison Janey, the film introduces Madeleine Voyles as a child robot with the power to end the world. Edwards, drew inspiration from classics like "Blade Runner" and "Apocalypse Now." Interestingly, he penned the script in 2018, long before the recent AI controversies. The film, shot in 80 global locations with minimal green screen magic, explores the complexities of AI-human relationships. Mark your calendars, folks: "The Creator" is set to hit theaters on September 29.
